The Peace and Conflict Studies Program (PACS) at DePauw University invites applications for an open rank one-year term faculty position, renewable for up to three years, beginning fall 2018. The program supports a vibrant, committed, and diverse community of students, an active speaker series, and a Restorative Justice program on campus.

We are particularly interested in scholar-practitioners who have an international focus and a balance of academic and practice experience in Conflict Resolution, Peace Studies, or Conflict Transformation. The PACS program focuses both on conflict analysis and transformation, and an understanding of how cultural, structural, and direct violence shape conflict.

Teaching responsibilities include courses at all levels of the curriculum, including the 100-level introductory course and the 200-level Advanced PACS course, Senior Seminar or capstone course, and electives in the candidate’s area of specialty. Candidates should be dedicated to strong undergraduate teaching, have a commitment to the liberal arts, and possess the desire and ability to engage undergraduate students in research and professional activities. PhD in Peace and Conflict Studies, Conflict Resolution, Peace Studies, or related fields preferred. ABD considered. Prior teaching, post-doctoral, or other related experience, academic and practice-based, is desired.

Candidates should submit the following materials through Interfolio https://apply.interfolio.com/xxxxx: a cover letter, a statement of teaching philosophy and interests, a curriculum vitae with the names and contact information for three references, graduate school transcripts, and a statement of scholarly interests. Application materials should demonstrate that the candidate has a commitment to inclusive pedagogies and fostering engagement with a diversity of ideas and experiences, which will promote an inclusive environment both within the classroom and in the University more broadly. Questions about the search may be directed to rachelgoldberg@depauw.edu. Review of applications will begin on February 1st, 2017 and the search will remain open until the position is filled.
