This webinar will discuss the fundamentals of coaching techniques and how they intricately align with the ombuds role. Coaching can be a dynamic tool to help visitors address issues while preserving full control of their conflict and its outcome. Steven Levecque has extensive experience in creating national conflict management systems, executive coaching, conflict coaching, ombuds work, designing and facilitating mediator training, and conducting small and large group interventions. He is a skilled manager, facilitator, mediator and trainer with significant experience in designing and delivering complex HR initiatives to diverse groups. Steven is a recognized leader in the fields of values and ethics, whistleblowing and conflict management who develops high performing, strong teams to deliver complex programs.

As a partner in RP HR Consulting, Steven creates environments within organizations to enhance the performance of its employees, managers and executives. He has held executive roles including Director-General, Ethics and Employee Support at Canada Border Services Agency; Director, Office of Conflict Management at Correctional Service Canada; External Ombudsman at Health Canada; Acting Director, Values and Ethics and Senior Informal Conflict Management Officer at Environment Canada.

Steven has been widely recognized for his work in the conflict management and values and ethics fields and as a leadership coach. Most recently Steven was awarded the CBSA President’s Award for Management Excellence in the creation of the CBSA Code of Conduct, which is seen as a benchmark product among law enforcement organizations. He also earned the Queen’s Jubilee medal for his work in those domains.
