Assistant Web Editor

The International Peace Institute (IPI) is seeking an Assistant Web Editor to work with the Director of Web and Multimedia in producing and publishing web and social media content for IPI. The position is based in New York City.

IPI is an independent, international not-for-profit think tank dedicated to promoting the prevention and settlement of conflicts between and within states.

Responsibilities:
— Manage IPI’s social media presence, including executing a strategy that connects IPI with relevant stakeholders and increase IPI’s visibility and traffic to its websites.
— Produce web coverage of IPI’s events and publications, especially by writing high-quality news articles.
— Maintain IPI’s web style guide
— Other duties as assigned by the Director of Web and Multimedia

Qualifications:
— Proficiency in social media, especially Twitter and Facebook
— Web and technologically savvy, with strong knowledge of web usability
— Outstanding command of English, particularly in writing and editing
— Ability to write news articles about complex topics in international relations
— Superb organizational skills and attention to detail
— Ability to work on a team in a dynamic environment
— BA or MA, preferably in journalism and/or international affairs
