Community Mediation Services (CMS) is a non-profit organization founded in 1983. Our mission is to create and promote more effective resolutions and problem solving for youth, their families, and individuals, institutions, and organizations within the community.    

 

CMS is seeking a Mediation Training & Development Coordinator to work as part of a collaborative team to help advance the training and mediation services of Community Mediation Services, Inc.     

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Mediation Training:  

  • ·         Develops, coordinates, and promotes CMS’ mediation programs, trainings, and workshops.
  • ·         Conducts online, social media, and direct outreach for training recruitment and promotion. 
  • ·         Plans and maintains mediation training and programs calendar. 
  • ·         Maintains CMS’ CLE certification requirements.
  • ·         Oversees all aspects of trainings, including logistics, facilities, and materials requirements.

Program Development: 

  • ·         Works closely with Director of Mediation Services to help develop mediation court program protocols, and coordinate court-connected mediation case programs, assisting to: 

o   Develop strategies for program development

o   Arrange for training and other consulting opportunities

o   Manage court mediation programs

o   Prepare information and reports for CMS management

  • ·         Promotes QMN services to courts, schools, social service agencies, faith-based organizations, professionals, and the public. 
  • ·         Collaborates to strengthen partnerships and increase referrals both within and outside CMS.   
  • ·         Coordinates Queens Mediation Network’s contributions to CMS website and social media.
  • ·         Manages and maintains accurate documentation and reports.  
  • ·         Assists to develop and carry out action plans to maintain and increase mediation referrals and opportunities to provide mediation and other conflict resolution services and trainings.  

Qualifications:  

Bachelor’s degree.  J.D./master’s preferred.  Five+ years’ experience in mediation or related area.  Candidate must be a skilled communicator, able to work in a multi-disciplinary setting.  Proficiency with Microsoft, Outlook, Word and Excel.  Commitment to serving a diverse community and supporting the CMS Mission.  Experience with court-based programs and program development a plus.    

 

Position Type:  Full-time including some weekend and evening hours.

Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience and excellent benefits package.

Location:  Jamaica, Queens
