Assessing Our Students, Assessing Ourselves: Volume 3 in the Rethinking Negotiation Teaching Series
Editors: Noam Ebner, James Coben, and Christopher Honeyman
In May 2010, more than 50 of the world's leading negotiation scholars gathered in Beijing, China for the Rethinking Negotiation Teaching project’s third international conference designed to critically examine what is taught in contemporary negotiation courses and how we teach them, with special emphasis on how best to "translate" teaching methodology to succeed with diverse, global audiences. This conference resulted in two books of collaborative writing, the third and fourth volumes of the Rethinking Negotiation Teaching Series, published by DRI press.
Volume 3, Assessing our Students, Assessing Ourselves, focuses on a relatively unexplored area of negotiation teaching: How should teachers assess student learning? How can assessment practices measure students’ mastery of the complexities of negotiation? How might assessment exercises contribute to student learning? And, finally – what do our grading practices tell us about our own teaching?
This book combines reviews of best practices in utilizing well-established evaluation methods, as well as suggestions for innovative and engaging exercises. Teachers of negotiation are sure to find this book helpful for planning and revising their courses.
