Certification in Managing Workplace Conflict, NYC October 20-21. Trainers, Coaches, Consultants, Mediators, Managers, Supervisors, HR Personnel

The Mediation Training Institute International (MTI) will offer a Two-Day Certification Conference on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Thursday, October 21, 2010 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (lunch on your own both days) at 845 Third Avenue, 6th Floor, New York City. Participants will learn the true costs of unresolved workplace conflict, the factors that contribute to and keep employees engaged in destructive conflict, mediation strategies and tools that employees and managers can use to turn conflict into cooperation.

Unmanaged conflict is the largest-reducible yet least-recognized cost in organizations today. Managers, supervisors, HR and EAP professionals, union leaders and others who have the skills to take positive action early – before clashes get out of hand – can save their businesses and organizations untold dollars in recovered work time, improved collaboration, better decision making and customer service. Practicing mediators, consultants and coaches can add a valuable tool to their toolboxes.

The certification will prepare participants to conduct managerial mediation and/or to offer courses in “Self-Mediation” and “Manager As Mediator” within their practices as well as within their businesses and organizations.

Cost options for the different certifications available can be obtained by visiting MTI’s website at www.mediationworks.com/mti/certconf/regopt.htm. Registration includes a workbook, reference cards and assessment materials. Certified trainers will also receive DVDs including program PowerPoint and other materials. Discounts are available for Federal employees and for multiple (team) registrations.

The conference presenter will be Alan Stern, Principal and CEO of Stage Right Organization Development, Inc., a NY affiliate of MTI. Stern specializes in training design and delivery of engaging, interactive programs. He conducts training of the core competencies for managing workplace conflict as part of the Mediation Training Institute International (MTI) training network.
