Pax Mondial is hiring a Conflict Resolution & Emergency Response Intern, to begin in early June. Initial deadline for applications is Monday, May 9, 2011. We will interview selected applicants throughout the month of May. Please see below for more details:

Compensation: Monthly stipend

Description: Pax Mondial, a commercial provider of operational support, stabilization, and development services in high-risk countries and emerging markets, is requesting applications for a Conflict Resolution & Emergency Response intern position. The part-time intern will report to the Director of Conflict Mitigation and participate in tasks relating to several Pax departments including Conflict Mitigation, Stabilization & Development, and Specialist Training & Capacity Building. Responsibilities will include:

• Conflict resolution research and material preparation.
• Cultural awareness research and material preparation.
• Investigative research on target countries and issue areas as designated by supervisor.
• Identification of business opportunities.
• Assistance in logistics for emergency response teams.
• Assistance in development of training modules.
• Assistance in relevant communication and marketing efforts.
• Other contributions as necessary.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess:

• At least a Bachelor’s Degree and some graduate-level academic work;
• An established interest and some experience in the fields of conflict resolution and international development; and
• Excellent research, writing, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
