*Essential Functions: *The Data Management and Public Information
Coordinator will coordinate the collection of all data including
Participant survey forms, attorney survey forms and ADR Practitioner
activity reports and follow up reports and surveys. This will
include data entry, producing reports in both statistical and narrative
forms, and begin analysis of the information for future
understanding and improvements to the District Court’s ADR programs. Create
and print case information cover sheets and conduct two
initial elements of data verification: case information written on the
Practitioner Activity report against the District Court Main Frame
or Case Search; and volunteer identification, docket date, time and location
against the ADR Practitioner quarterly schedule. Scan in all
data and verify completeness and accuracy of all responses submitted on all
survey forms. Maintain all quantitative data from the day of
trial Practitioner Activity reports and pretrial program mediation result
forms and all qualitative data from the participant survey forms
in all day of trial ADR Programs. Develop and maintain the ADR Office public
information and public communication projects, which
include developing and managing all activities and materials produced for
Conflict Resolution month; all information, materials and
content for the web page, including designing, updating and maintaining the
ADR Office website; and promotional materials including a
newsletter in conjunction with other Judiciary offices to provide
information about ADR, mediation and the services provided by the
District Court ADR Office.
*Education: *Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from an accredited college
or university.
*Experience: *Five years of mediation or conflict resolution experience.
*Required Certification: *Forty hour basic mediation training certificate in
a model consistent with Title 17 of the Maryland Rules of
Procedure.
*Note: *Master’s Degree in Conflict Resolution or closely related field may
be substituted for two years of the required experience.
*Skills/Abilities: *Must have proficient understanding of the mediation
process. Knowledge and understanding of multiple types (frameworks)
of mediation and of other forms of ADR. Knowledge and good familiarity with
court and legal systems, court rules, and the legal profession.
Familiarity with Codes and Standards of Conduct for Mediators. Outstanding
written and oral communication skills, both in person, via email
and telephonically and ability to create, format and layout documents and
reports and write creatively. Must be computer literate,
including Word Perfect and Microsoft Office. Outstanding negotiation and
diplomacy (interpersonal) skills; collaborative problem solving
skills, group facilitation skills, and dynamic presentation skills. The
ability to work with and communicate effectively with diverse
stakeholders (such as judges, attorneys, courthouse personnel, and the
general public), the ability to be a self-starter and to work as a member
of a team or independently as the tasks warrant. Ability to set priorities
and to manage and organize multiple projects simultaneously. and
computer literacy, including word processing, spread sheets, and e-mail.
Ability to perform all essential functions of the position.
