DIRECTOR, BOSTON UNIVERSITY PROGRAM IN WASHINGTON D.C.

Boston University is seeking a Director to provide academic and administrative
leadership for the Boston University Washington D.C. Program.

Boston University is a national
leader in providing excellent opportunities for its students to enhance their
education by studying in major centers of culture, science, business, and
government around the world. The Boston University Washington D.C. Program,
established in 1983, provides undergraduates and graduate students with
academic coursework, professional internships, and co-curricular experiences
that challenge students to develop a deep knowledge of the Washington D.C.
community and institutions. The program emphasizes, but is not limited to, the
fields of communications and media, government and politics, and international
relations.

Job Description

The Director will oversee all aspects of the program, including:
·The curriculum, faculty and staff appointments and evaluations
·Relations with Boston University, public and private institutions and
organizations in the Washington area
·Shaping of a new multidisciplinary core course on the Washington community and
institutions and have an opportunity to teach aspects of the course
·Management of the Washington staff

Requirements
·A deep knowledge of Washington and its institutions and organizations
·Contacts and experience necessary for creating good internship opportunities
·Administrative and academic experience
·Excellent communication and organizational skills and a desire to work with
young people
·Ph.D./ABD in Political Science, International Relations, History or related
field, or J.D. strongly preferred
·Qualified candidates will be eligible for an adjunct faculty appointment in an
appropriate academic department of Boston University
