Q&A: Family mediation

Author: Joanna Faith

Joanna Faith talks to Tom Farrell about how he got into family mediation and why IFAs (Independent Financial Advisors) possess the perfect skills for this job.

In this article, Tom makes a point that IFA's may possess many of the skills needed to be a good family mediator. They "encounter clients at points of high anxiety in their lives. We have to be able to deal with these situations tactfully and sympathetically, yet gather facts and explore needs. All of these skills are relevant."
