Victim/Offender & Facilitated Dialogue

This is continuing education training for mediators, conciliators, attorneys, counselors, educators and others. It is a two part training. Attend one or the other or both!


Victim/Offender Meetings Training
Continuing education training for mediators, conciliators, attorneys, counselors, educators, and others.
Learn the basic principles of Victim Offender meetings while touching on the philosophy and values of Restorative Justice!



Dates - 2011:
  • Thursday, January 13 from 5pm to 9pm
  • Friday & Saturday, January 14 and 15 from 8:30am to 5:30pm


Facilitated Dialogue Program (FDP)

Presentation and discussion open to all interested individuals
Look at the needs FDP addresses for victims and offenders in serious and violent crimes
Be exposed to the philosophical perspective that shapes and guides the practice
Get an overview of the Oregon Department of Corrections program which is based on best practices

Restorative Justice Coordinator
Meet and work with Eric Gilman, the Restorative Justice
Coordinator for Clark County Juvenile Court.  Eric has over 20 years
experience in victim offender meetings, and was a co-developer of the
pioneering Canadian program that facilitates contact between victims
and offenders in serious and violent crimes.  Eric also helped develop
the Facilitated Dialogue Program operated by the Oregon Department of
Corrections.  He has developed and written a comprehensive victim
offender meeting training program that is used internationally.
