Job Description:
The School of Global Affairs and Public Policy invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor in the Department of Public Policy and
Administration beginning in Fall 2011 in the area of international
conflict resolution, with an emphasis on interstate and intrastate
conflict involving developing countries. The successful applicant will
contribute to a proposed new Master's in Global Affairs, part of our
dynamic and growing graduate program in public policy and
administration, through development of a strong, externally funded
research program, contributions to graduate teaching and master's thesis
supervision, and participation in program development. Preferred areas
of expertise include but are not limited to: nonproliferation,
disarmament, and arms control; international conflict diplomacy and
negotiation; emerging global and regional security regimes; resolution
of inter- and intrastate conflict, and role of international and
non-state actors in conflict and its resolution.
Requirements:
The successful applicant will have a Ph.D. from a leading U.S., European, or Asian university, preferably with postdoctoral research, teaching, and/or program management experience in a developing country.
Senior professionals with at least 20 years of international
professional experience, teaching experience at the university level,
and a strong master's degree will also be considered for term
appointments as professors of practice.
