Edward M. Krauss- I respond to the Sunday Dispatch column Wholly Matrimony, in which a reader expressed concern about the costs of divorce and asked "Is there anything I can do to keep the cost down?"

Costs can be kept markedly lower by utilizing mediation. In mediation, a neutral third party (on occasion two mediators) sits with the parties to the divorce and asks for their responses to a series of questions about assets and liabilities, the family home, parenting agreements for their children and other pertinent matters.
