Mediation, facilitation and negotiation adjunct position at Pace University for Spring 2016

The Dyson College of Arts and Sciences and the Peace and Justice Studies program at Pace University invite applications for a position teaching negotiation, mediation and facilitation during the spring 2016 semester. Peace and Justice Studies is a major at Pace University and this course is part of the required core classes for the major.

The course is entitled “Working Through Conflict: mediation, facilitation and negotiation”. The section to be covered during the spring semester will runMonday/Wednesday from 4:35-6 pm. Classes begin the last week in January 2016.

Candidates should have at least an MA in Peace and Justice Studies, Political Science, Sociology, Anthropology, International Studies or a related field. Candidates will also be considered commensurate with professional experience. The successful candidate must have teaching experience at the college level.

Professional experience working as a mediator, facilitator or negotiator and willingness to share these experiences with the students is a pre-requisite for the instructor of this course. The course will draw heavily on skill-building role playing activities which will be developed by the instructor. There is an existing syllabus for this course but candidates are welcome to propose their own.
