Summary of Position: The Executive Assistant (EA) will be responsible for assisting the Executive Director (ED) in all aspects of MBB's administration. Specific duties will include, among others, general operations, database and website maintenance, bookkeeping and financial management. This will involve working with the ED, the Program Director, the Events Coordinator, the Board, and the Finance and Membership Engagement Committees.
MBB program staff includes:
- Full-time ED in New Haven, CT;
- Part-time Program Director near Vancouver Island, BC; and
- Part-time Events Coordinator in Longview, TX.
Note: Candidates must live in New Haven, New York City, or elsewhere in Connecticut or New York, with easy access to the Metro-North New Haven line.
Position Requirements
- Candidates should be able to work independently with supervision and task prioritizing by the ED.
- Candidates should be able to maintain flexibility with respect to hours, tasks to be performed and limited resources available to a nonprofit organization.
- To be eligible for the top ranges listed below, candidates should have bookkeeping skills and know how to use QuickBooks.
- Candidates should generally have excellent computer, technology and social media skills, and be detail-oriented and self-directed.
- Mediation/conflict resolution/dialogue experience is desirable, but not required.
- @ 25 - 30 hours per week.
- @ $15.00 - $18.00/hour; no benefits.
- Any work-related expenses will be reimbursed monthly.
- Initial term of employment: June 1 - December 31, 2012.
