NAFCM Executive Director (Independent Contractor)

The National Association for Community Mediation (NAFCM) is seeking an independent contractor to lead NAFCM as Executive Director.

In communities around the globe, community mediation programs and volunteers share their expertise to help others constructively engage, transform, & resolve conflict. NAFCM supports these peacemakers by aggregating their wisdom, amplifying their voice, and advancing their critical work.  The Executive Director will be ambitious; energetic; tech-savvy; thrive on virtual collaboration and communication; and have a track record of success in meeting ambitious goals, developing durable partnerships, increasing capacity, and building sustainability.

The Executive Director will grow the financial resources of NAFCM, work with a dynamic and engaged board of directors, communicate with more than 300 members, support several active committees, and carry out NAFCM’s strategic priorities.  The Executive Director will also provide leadership to groups of grant recipients who are engaged in in-depth learning communities.  As the sole staff member, the contractor will be skilled at implementing big-picture strategies while also carrying out the day-to-day operations of the agency - from managing membership renewals to bookkeeping.

This is a home-based contract position.  The Executive Director’s location within the United States is flexible.

To apply, please e-mail your resume (no more than two pages) and cover letter to apply@nafcm.org.  The application deadline is December 11th, 2014.  Initial phone interviews will be scheduled January 7th, 8th and 9th.  Candidates must be available for an interview on these dates.  No phone calls, please.
