In order to promote Online Mediation in Africa, on December 3, 2015 ODR Africa Network and Virtual Mediation Lab ran and video recorded the simulation of a commercial case – a dispute between 2 architects and business partners in Nigeria.

The 2 goals of our simulation were:

Goal #1 – To give an example of how online mediators can do online what they are used to do face-to-face: e.g. Joint meetings with both parties; private meetings (caucus) with each party; writing up the parties' Memorandum of Understanding or Agenda for their next mediation session.

Goal #2 - To show how the Internet and the technology (PC, Mac, Ipad, iPhone, Android tablet and smart phone) currently available in Africa open up new opportunities for experienced mediators who are interested to offer their services online.
