Position: Senior Mediator/Development Leader

RESOLVE, a non-profit organization in Washington, DC is seeking a Senior Mediator/Development Leader interested in collaboration, mentoring junior staff, and developing resources to advance the mission. We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience and/or interest in food safety and sustainability, public health infrastructure and systems, and environmental health.

RESOLVE is an independent organization focused on helping diverse groups build strong enduring solutions to solve health, social, and environmental problems through collaboration. We help community, business, government, foundations, and NGO leaders get results and create lasting relationships through collaboration. We are based in Washington DC and work on local, regional, national, and international projects. Our projects focus on healthy people and communities, clean air and water, resilient ecosystems, smart energy, sustainable development, and natural resource conflicts.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have a master’s degree or equivalent experience in conflict resolution, public policy, health or environmental arena. Applicants must be able to demonstrate 2-5 years of successful fundraising experience. Applicants must also have experience leading and managing development initiatives.

7. Demonstrated grasp of dispute resolution concepts;
8. Ability to see all sides of a topic and stay neutral;
9. Ability to listen actively;
10. Ability to sequence group discussions and activities;
11. Ability to translate positions to interests.
12. Excellent strategic and planning skills;
13. Effective oral and written communication and analytical skills
14. A demonstrated capacity to articulate a project case to funders—both orally and in written materials.
This staff person reports to RESOLVE Vice President of Programs and Practice and works closely with other senior staff to advance RESOLVE’s mission and impact by leading collaborative projects, developing projects and partnerships that match RESOLVE’s issues foci, leading organizational teams, supporting organizational learning, and securing the resources necessary to support their work and the work of others. The staff person will also work with the President and other senior staff to secure foundation and donor resources.
