SALARY:
$43,725 - $69,999

POSITION DUTIES: The Maryland Department
of Budget and Management (DBM), Employee Relations Division, is seeking
a talented individual to administer the statewide mediation program, known
as the Shared Neutrals Mediation Program. This individual will manage all
aspects of the Program, including maintaining the protocols, policies and
procedures already in place and designing new ones as needed, recruiting
additional mediators, and initiating and coordinating training as needed.
The incumbent will market, coordinate and administer the Program, and will
chair the Maryland State Government Shared Neutrals Task Group, which supports
the Program.
The following are essential functions
of this position (not all inclusive):
Recommends
additional protocols and policies for the program, as needed.
Markets
the mediation program through brochures, material, training and presentations.
Maintains
a current roster of trained volunteer mediators for the program. Revises
criteria for the mediators as needed, and ensures mediators achieve and
maintain criteria.
Recruits
and provides training for new mediators. Coordinates continuing education
opportunities for current roster of experienced mediators.
Receives
and screens calls from state employees seeking mediation. Schedules sessions
with participants and informs them generally regarding the mediation process.
Assigns
mediators to cases and arranges for mediation locations.
Obtains,
reviews, and maintains surveys from participants and mediators.
Provides
ongoing evaluation of the program, including tracking cases after completion
of the mediation.
Maintains
a database to track information and to generate reports as required.
Candidates must meet both the
minimum and the selective qualifications.
