Major Duties:
Serves as the Chief Ombudsman and consultant to the Director and FBI Executives, and as an expert advisor to managerial, supervisory, Special
Agent and professional staff personnel throughout the Bureau.  Directs,
develops and administers the FBI's Informal conflict resolution program
which includes the following:  Managing the Director's advisory
committees, providing upward feedback to the Director and executive
management staff, and providing employees an open forum to present
problem and issues.  Specializes in inter-group and institutional
conflict matters.  Plans and coordinates work to be accomplished by
subordinates and sets and adjusts short and long term priorities.  Keeps
employees informed regarding policies and procedures as they relate to
the work.  Reviews final work product of employees to ensure accuracy
and thoroughness of analysis, clarity of expression, wisdom of
strategies and compliance with FBI policies.  Interviews candidates for
positions; formally recommends appointment.  Participates with the
budget and program planning, preparation of reports or information about
program activities.  Maintains liaison and attends meetings with senior
FBI officials, supervisors, employees, committees or with other dispute
resolution professionals such as Ombudsmen and Mediators from other
Federal agencies as appropriate to encourage timely and effective
participation in decision making.

Specialized Experience:  Applicant must have one year of specialized experience (SE) equivalent to the GS 14 level.

Specialized experience is experience analyzing, interpreting, developing, and/or
implementing laws, regulations, policies, and/or guidance involving
management/dispute resolution and/or inter-group and institutional
conflict matters.*

Occasional travel may be required.

Selectee(s) will be required to complete a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, prior
to entering on duty and annually thereafter.

The selectee will be required to serve a one-year supervisory probationary period.


This position is a term appointmentDefinition not to exceed (NTEDefinition) 1 year, the selection may be made permanent without further competition.
