Why Students of Rockdale County Public Schools Like to Practice Their Peer Mediation Skills Online

On May 11, 2016 Dr. Cynthia Morton, a peer mediation professional and coordinator of the Online Peer Mediation Platform (OPMP), asked five of her high school students, who attend Rockdale County Public Schools, nine questions about their experience practicing their peer mediation skills by participating in online simulations under the supervision of their school’s Trainer/Mentor.

>> Do you think that students will be comfortable using this forum?
>> How do you think that students can benefit from using this platform?
>> What are some limitations you saw using this platform?
>> Do you think there could be some privacy issues using this platform? And how can we solve them?
>> Could you see younger students (of middle or elementary schools) using this forum?
>> When would you hesitate using this forum?
>> What would you like to see changed or improved in this forum?
>> After this year graduation, would you like to continue using this forum (in college)?
>> Would you recommend this forum to other schools or school districts? And why?

OPMP is a project funded by the JAMS Foundation, previously managed by the Association for Conflict Resolution Education, Training and Research Section, and currently managed by the National Association of Peer Program Professionals.
