International Ombudsman Association Posts Agenda for 2012 Annual Conference

Registration is now open for the Seventh Annual Conference of the International Ombudsman Association on April 13–18, 2012 at the Hyatt Regency in Houston, Texas. Special pricing is being offered for attendees who also register for Ombuds 101. Priority registration closes on March 23. IOA has also posted an expected agenda for the conference.

Keynote Address: David Yamada, Professor of Law, Suffolk University Law School
Yamada is the founding Director of the New Workplace Institute at Suffolk University Law School in Boston. Yamada is an internationally recognized authority on the legal implications of workplace bullying and he drafted the Healthy Workplace Bill, which has been introduced in over a dozen state legislatures.

Dues studies and teaches organizational communication, conflict management, and argumentation. He developed the Conflict Climate Inventory, an instrument for assessing the influence of an organization’s culture on its members’ conflict management behavior. He is active in applying knowledge of organizational communication to assist non-profit community organizations with strategic planning and team development.

Williams serves on the Halliburton Legal Management Team, the governing body that determines the function and development of Halliburton’s Global Law Department, and oversees the company’s global compliance function. Williams is a frequent speaker on many topics, including corporate governance, client management and client development for outside counsel, legal training best practices, career management, ethics and leadership, and diversity.
