The Courts are having an increasingly hard time restricting outside influence from jurors with the rise of social networks online and smart phones. In Kilgore v. Fuji Heavy Industries, a juror admitted to seeking outside evidence from his brother-in-law, a subaru mechanic (Fuji manufactures subaru). In many cases that last more than a month, jurors are finding it increasingly difficult to stay sites like twitter, facebook, and myspace.  In one Detroit case, a juror posted his verdict on facebook before the trial was over.
