Project Cycle Management  ~  A Training Course for Non-‐Governmental Organisations

Today’s development projects / programmes are increasingly complex and implemented under extremely tight time and financial constraints. Projects also require the participation of numerous stakeholders, coordination between specialists from different fields, and the need to apply efficient management to solve challenging problems. While project managers in NGOs often have the knowledge of the content their project covers, management knowledge is often limited to what they have learnt by doing. There are, however, a wide range of project management tools and techniques that could make their work much more efficient, but these are often not known to NGOs. This course aims to equip and empower project managers with project design, planning, financial and monitoring tools, and more.

TRAINING METHODOLOGY: highly practical, participatory and fun! we focus on real

issues and help participants to use the techniques covered, rather than just discuss them. It

includes real projects, numerous practical examples and group exercises.

Objectives: after the course participants will:

• Acquire a range of practical tools which will enable them to adapt their methods and responses to a variety of situations which arise during the project cycle.
• Be able to design, plan, implement, and monitor projects in a more consistent, reliable and predictable manner
• Understand the most important principles of financial management
• Understand the most useful monitoring and evaluation tools
