Two Conflict Resolution Related Positions at Pace University

Adjunct position for Introduction to Peace and Justice Studies

The section to be covered during the spring semester will run Monday evenings from 6:10-9:00 pm. Courses begin the last week in January 2014.

Candidates should have at least an MA in Peace and Justice Studies, Political Science, Sociology, Anthropology, International Studies or a related field; PhD preferred. Candidates will also be considered commensurate with professional experience. The successful candidate must have teaching experience at the college level.

Students respond particularly well to instructors who are able to bring their own experiences working for peace and justice both domestically and internationally into the classroom. Ability to incorporate critical discussion of current events and facilitation of active, engaged debates and discussions are valued by the students who concentrate on Peace and Justice Studies.

Peace and Justice Studies is a new minor on the New York City campus of Pace University and has quickly become an integral part of the Political Science department. This is the only required course in the minor and covers a wide range of topics related to peace and justice. There is an existing syllabus but candidates are welcome to propose their own.
