Zoom – the video collaboration software we use for all our Virtual Mediation Lab training and online mediation simulations – has recently announced a new feature that can be very useful in online mediation.
Imagine that you are mediating online a commercial case with:
>> Party 1 in Los Angeles, California
>> Party 1’s Attorney in Miami, Florida
>> Party 2 in Miami, Texas
>> Party 2’s Attorney in Chicago, Illinois
And at one point during the mediation you decide that it would be useful to keep the parties in separate “virtual” rooms - Party 1 and his or her attorney in one room; Party 2 and his or her attorney in the other room.
With Zoom online mediators can easily set up those 2 virtual rooms, and join them to check what’s going on – to find out, for example, whether each party:
>> Has had enough time to consider the other party’s offer
>> Is willing to accept that offer or has a counteroffer to put on the table
>> Is ready to meet the other party (and the mediator) in a joint meeting
Demo of Online “Shuttle Diplomacy”
In order to demonstrate this new Zoom feature for “Shuttle Diplomacy” we are seeking 4 volunteer mediators. For more information and to sign up click here http://goo.gl/oQTQEO
