This training is intended for mediators and conflict managers handling public, private and Federal workplace disputes who want to improve their dispute resolution skills. Areas of skill-building include improving questioning techniques, analyzing and evaluating situations where the parties are at impasse, resolving deadlocks, and using alternate approaches for handling evaluative and distributive disputes. It includes short lectures, scripted scenarios, videos and exercises, and “fishbowl” role-plays. The trainer will discuss how to employ mediation skills to address workplace discord that prior to the formal complaint/grievance process. 

Prerequisite: Mediation Skills and Process or relevant mediation experience
