2012 Honorary Chair Gary Belsky: 6:00 PM
Gary is a Time.com columnist and former editor-in-chief of ESPN The Magazine and ESPNInsider.com. He co-authored the bestselling book, Why Smart People Make Big Money Mistakes and How to Correct Them: Lessons from the Life-Changing Science of Behavioral Economics. Gary will address the cognitive traps we face in making decisions and how we can overcome them.

Panel Discussion: 6:15 PM
A panel of mediation experts, include Laverne Berry, entertainment lawyer, and President of the New York Board of Women in Film and Television, Gary Belsky, MSD Honorary Chair; Kenneth Andrichik, Chief Counsel and Director of Mediation and Strategy, FINRA Dispute Resolution; Lela Love, Professor of Law at Cardozo, Director of the Kukin Program for Conflict Resolution and the Cardozo Mediation Clinic; will reflect on what behavioral economics can teach us about decision-making in negotiation and mediation. Panelists will also explore the role that Choice Architecture might have on the future of Alternative Dispute Resolution. Dan Weitz, Statewide ADR Coordinator, NYS Courts, will facilitate the discussion.
