ACR’s Elder Decision-Making and Family Sections are a part of ACR - a dynamic, non-profit organization focused on alternative dispute resolution (ADR) with a membership comprised of conflict management and resolution practitioners from across the United States and around the world who work as mediators, negotiators, arbitrators, collaborative professionals, educators, trainers, conflict coaches, and volunteers, amongst other ADR work.
The Retreat and elder and family related sessions, and all the ACR Conference 2014 Program, is geared to extensive educational and professional development opportunities with some 90 sessions, an outstanding Youth Day Program for local students and a motivating keynote address. We are pleased to announce that this year's Keynote speaker is Tim Wise, a prominent anti-racist writer, educator, consultant and advocate who leads off the Diversity Theme for Thursday, October 9. Thursday closes with an exciting ACR initiative: New Voices which honors six graduate students in conflict resolution degree programs whose papers were selected in a juried competition for presentation at the Conference. Friday is dedicated to Bullying in all its aspects: youth, business, family, sports, schools, and other places and ages from childhood to the elderly where bullying is found. All of this engages families, elders and community at its core.
