Peace Action Wisconsin is a statewide peace and justice organization. Our goals are to abolish nuclear weapons and power, to end military interventions, to stop the international arms trade, and to
transfer military spending to meet human needs. Our tools to reach these goals
include education, public witness, and legislative lobbying. Interning with
Peace Action involves working towards our goals by utilizing these tools.

Applicant Qualities – Selected applicants will demonstrate the following:
- Strong commitment to peace and social justice.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility as a team player and working irregular hours.
- Proficient problem-solving skills.
- Open, honest, and effective communication.

Independent Peace and Justice Internship:
This internship allows the intern to develop and implement a plan of action in
which they can aid Peace Action in achieving a specific goal.

Criteria
- Work regularly with all Peace Action staff members.
- Develop a comprehensive plan outlining how their idea will aid the organization
in achieving its goals.
- Attend any necessary meetings and events that will aid in achieving their
chosen goal.
- Demonstrate leadership by coordinating volunteers, staff and committee
members to work together to achieve a common goal.

Goals
- Aid Peace Action in achieving an important program or membership goal.
- Develop a new program or tactic that is not yet in place.
- Utilize all of Peace Action’s resources, including volunteers, to achieve a
goal.
