About us:
Win Without War is a national leader in the fight to promote a more progressive
national security strategy. Our campaign-style operation aggressively attacks
right-wing distortion while pushing our elected leaders to stand up against the
politicization of our national security.

Formed in 2002 to lead the first national campaign against the war in Iraq and
the disastrous policies of the Bush/Cheney Administration, our 40-member
coalition reflects the diversity of the progressive movement, with members
ranging from the NAACP and National Organization of Women to the Sierra Club,
National Council of Churches and MoveOn.org.

About the internship:

Win Without War is looking for a part to full time unpaid intern to conduct
research on the policy and politics of national security, assist with the
organization of advocacy campaigns and help with office administration. He or
she will work directly with the coalition’s Program Director and National
Director, who is a former Member of Congress. The intern will have the
opportunity to attend meetings with Members of Congress, work with
Congressional staff as well as the staff of partner organizations in the
progressive community. The hours and days for this internship are flexible and
WWW will work with the student to procure school credit. Interns will gain an
understanding for how a citizen organization interacts with the government to
influence public policy, focusing on demilitarization of foreign policy.

Duties:
- Tracking legislation
- Researching 2010 Congressional races
- General office administration
- Data entry in Excel and Word

Qualifications:
- Attention to detail
- Ability to do online research/ keep track of related legislation
- Interest in or knowledge of foreign policy and national security issues
- Major in Politics/ Political Science/ Communications or related field
- Knowledge of policy/ Capitol Hill preferred
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite
- Junior/ senior undergraduate student
