Working through John Hopkins University's Social Innovation Lab, a team of three graduate students has received funding to develop and deliver mediation trainings to mental health communities in Baltimore. This webinar will discuss the origins of this project, which aims to increase the diversity of the mediator pool by reaching people with mental health lived experience. We will explain how we developed the training and built relationships to deliver it to mental health stakeholders. Hear from the Hopkins SIL team which includes Dan Berstein (MH Mediate), Jura Augustinavicius, and Ruowei Yang.

Presenter Bios:

The Mental Health Conflict Resolution Training team was formed at Johns Hopkins University as part of their Social Innovation Lab. Three graduate students studying mental health at the school of public health joined to offer mediation trainings to mental health communities in Baltimore. This builds upon the work of MH Mediate, which hosts dialogue events amongst mental health communities. MH Mediate also provides workshops to mediators so they can develop cultural sensitivity and accessibility to parties with mental illness.
