The private university in Washington, D.C. has opened a search for its first Faculty Ombudsperson. The full-time position will work with nearly 1,000 faculty and reports to the Faculty Senate and Office the Provost and Chief Academic Officer. It is unclear how the Faculty Ombuds will work with the Student Ombudsman, Calvin Hadley, who was appointed in September 2015 and who appears to have more of an advocate role. Applicants must have a bachelor’s in relevant field and five years or more of professional experiences in dispute resolution. A masters’ degree in social work or psychology and professional experience working with faculty in higher education environments are preferred. No application deadline or salary indicated. Must be computer proficient: Windows, MS Office Suite, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet applications.
