The Office of the UN Ombudsman and Mediation Services is hiring a Regional Ombudsman in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. The position will head the regional branch in Kinshasa and will report directly to the Director of Office and work under the overall direction of the UN Ombudsman. The position will also collaborate with the Ombuds of the Funds and Programmes and of UNHCR.

Applicants must have an advanced university degree in a relevant subject and training in alternative conflict resolution is highly desirable.  At least ten years of progressively responsible experience, including at least five in collaborative dispute resolution, managerial, administration, legal or related field is required.  Experience in resolution of conflicts or disputes in an international setting/multicultural context is required.  Experience in the region is an advantage. For this post, fluency in written and spoken English and French is required. Knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.
