Ombudsman at Prince George's County Public Schools

The large school district in Maryland is hiring an Ombudsman for its Transportation and Central Garage Services Department.  According to the job posting, "This is an impartial intermediary to facilitate positive relationships between Prince George's County Public Schools and the community at large and whose main function is to provide confidential and informal assistance to the public. The Ombudsman will develop and monitor a neutral process for parent and public complaints and questions, act as a source of information and referral, and assist in the resolution of concerns and critical situations."

Applicants must have a bachelor's degree.  Master's degree and Legal or investigative experience preferred.  The position pays $66,393-115,331 and applications are due May 23, 2014. (PGCPS Recruitment, Ref. No. IRC72123.) 

In 2011, PGCPS advertised for its first Ombudsman.  The new office was eventually designated as the "Office of Constituent Services."
