The Federal Emergency Management Agency has posted a vacancy announcement for Reservist ADR Advisor positions in its Alternative Dispute Resolution cadre. Reservists are on-call Federal Government employees who are deployed on short notice for 30-60 days to large presidentially declared disasters. Using a variety of ADR techniques, they work to resolve workplace conflicts and inform senior disaster management about trends and areas of concern.

Applications must be received online through www.usajobs.gov by August 28, 2014. U.S. citizenship, a four-year college degree, and three years experience providing conflict resolution or ombuds services including mediation, conflict coaching, group facilitation and consensus building, ADR training, work group assessment, and teambuilding are required.  The pay is $39.97 per hour.

Application Notes:

  1. There are some rather stringent disaster deployment requirements you will need to agree to when you apply. Please say "yes" to all of these if interested in the position and, if selected for an interview, we will discuss these and provide more detailed information.
  2. The online application process can be time consuming and requires creating a free account on usajobs.gov.
  3. The direct link to the position announcement follows, but this sometimes changes. If this link does not work, please search usajobs.gov with the phrase "FEMA ADR" and it should pop right up.
