Circuit Court Judge Hon. Joseph P. Farina (Ret.) Joins JAMS

Miami – JAMS, the largest private provider of mediation and arbitration services worldwide, today announced the addition of Hon. Joseph P. Farina (Ret.) to its panel. Judge Farina will be based in the JAMS Miami Resolution Center. He will serve as an arbitrator, mediator and special master in a variety of disputes including Business/Commercial, Construction, Employment, Environmental, Personal Injury/Torts, Professional Liability and Real Property.

Judge Farina served as a Circuit Judge in the General Jurisdiction Division in Miami-Dade County, Florida. For 14 years, he served as Chief Judge and in addition to his heavy caseload, he supervised the operations of the Miami-Dade Court system, which is comprised of 123 judges, 15 general magistrates, 20 traffic hearing officers, and more than 500 administrative and court staff members serving in 10 courthouses.

“Judge Farina is highly regarded as an active and effective settlement judge who has managed numerous settlements of complex cases,” said Chris Poole, JAMS president and CEO. “We think his background along with his well-known reputation in Miami will make him an excellent addition to our panel.”

“I became a judge because of my love for public service and the law,” Judge Farina said. “Joining JAMS allows me to continue applying principles like patience, careful listening and understanding to resolving disputes.”

Judge Farina graduated with his B.A. from George Washington University and received his J.D. from University of Florida Levin College of Law.
