ADR Lunchtime Series- Addressing Structural Sources of Workplace Conflict

ADR LUNCHTIME SERIES

To See the Forest for the Trees:
Addressing Structural Sources of Workplace Conflict

Individuals account for only a small percentage of the conflicts within an organization.  Instead, most conflicts involve structural problems.  Using a "dynamic governance" perspective, the presenters will explain why destructive conflicts are inherent in conventional organizational structures and offer tools for altering the traditional hierarchy to address those conflicts.  Dynamic governance -- grounded in systems and chaos theories - enhances sustainability and inclusiveness.  By harnessing the energy of conflict before it escalates, dynamic governance promotes creative resolutions.  This presentation will explore ways for ADR practitioners to work with parties to adjust the structural sources of conflict and increase organizational effectiveness.
