ADR LUNCHTIME SERIES

What can a critical look at ‘Indian Mascots’ teach us about uncovering bias in ourselves and others?

This interactive session will take a critical look at the use of Indian mascots in the sports arena to highlight the prevalence of stereotypes in our culture.  ADR professionals can learn how to increase their awareness of subconscious communications and stereotypes that create a hostile work environment and how they can play a greater role in understanding and ameliorating this type of bias.  The speaker will address resources for referral, assistance, and further education.  Through discussion, the audience can begin to develop a personal approach to addressing bias in the workplace.
