Job Description

Latham & Watkins LLP, a global law firm with 29 offices and approximately 2,000 attorneys, has an opening for the position of Conflicts Specialist Supervisor. The Supervisor occupies a key position
supervising and coordinating the daily operations of the firm's
15-member (and growing) global Conflicts Specialists team located
currently across offices in London, Washington, DC and Los Angeles.

Our ideal candidate - perhaps a law school graduate, paralegal or librarian - will possess supervisory experience in a large law firm setting.  We
will look for strong communication and organizational skills, and a
demonstrated ability to evaluate department workload demands and then
coordinate personnel resources and assignments to meet those demands.

The Supervisor will continuously monitor the current and anticipated
workload of the overall Conflicts Specialist team and ensure
assignments are balanced properly among the Specialists. The Supervisor
will provide regular feedback on the work product of all Conflicts
Specialists to ensure consistency among the team in conducting
conflicts reviews and preparing conflicts summaries.  The Supervisor
will also respond to questions by the Conflicts Specialists and work
with the Conflicts Specialists and attorneys in resolving potential
conflicts issues.  The Supervisor will oversee the recruitment and
training of new Conflicts Specialists as the team expands to provide
continual conflicts review services for the firm.

We seek an individual who works independently but contributes to the strong sense of camaraderie and pleasant work environment that we prize. A sense of
humor is a plus.

The position is exempt and does not earn overtime. It will be located in either the Washington, DC or Los Angeles office of the firm, although it is a global position that
supports all offices of the firm and requires travel among the offices
where Conflicts Specialists reside. Please apply at www.lw.com and include a cover letter responsive to the above qualifications.

I am the current Mediation Program Administrator for the Court of Appeal, First Appellate District. I am interested in the position you are advertising although I cannot tell exactly what you are looking for. Does your use of the term "conflicts" imply "conflict of interest" as it might affect a firm's ability to take on new work? Or, are you using the term in its broader sense, as in conflict resolution? If the latter, I might be a good fit; if the former I would not be interested. Thank you.
Gary,

Lynsee just posts various job openings as she comes across them. She is not affiliated with the group looking to fill the vacancy. I passed along a note to LW regarding your inquiry. You can also visit their website @:
