LIVE WEBINAR: Synchronous Technology to Engage a Broader Spectrum of the Population in Resolving Community Disputes

Synchronous Technology to Engage a Broader Spectrum of the Population in Resolving Community Disputes

Presented by Larry Schooler

Cyberweek 2013 - Synchronous Technology to Engage a Broader Spectru... from The Werner Institute on Vimeo.

Online tools abound for engaging the public in conversations about issues that matter to them—from the local to the global level.  But few of them can offer a real-time exchange of ideas that simulates an in-person conversation, where people deliberate and analyze tradeoffs associated with their preferences for policy or budgetary changes.  This webinar will demonstrate ways to leverage a variety of technologies—from telephone to text message, from TV to online chat—to involve a large audience of affected stakeholders that goes beyond the usual suspects who might attend public meetings or track online discussion boards.

Participants will get to experience this mix of technologies while offering suggestions on other ways to leverage additional platforms to produce a more compelling user experience.  The session will be highly participatory and interactive!
