The primary role of the Ombudsperson is to provide an independent, impartial and confidential process through which members of the University Community may pursue the just, fair and equitable resolution of University-related concerns. The Ombudsperson may make recommendations, where appropriate, for changes in policies and procedures and promote discussion on institution-wide concerns.

As an ideal candidate for the inaugural Ombudsperson role, you have considerable knowledge of dispute resolution practices, principles and operational processes. You have a demonstrated ease, experience in and sensitivity to dealing with a broad cross-section of individuals within a large, complex organization with a diverse staff complement and multiple unions. Qualified applicants are expected to be fluent in both official languages and must possess a university degree in addition to relevant certification or diploma in the field of conflict resolution, and/or relevant experience.
