Re-Entry Mediation and Outreach Specialist

 

Responsibilities:

Conduct presentations about the Carroll County Community Mediation Center (CCCMC) and Re-Entry Mediation to groups and individuals.

Conduct pre-mediation intake conversations at the Central Maryland Correctional Facility (CMCF) and the Carroll County Detention Center with inmates and over the phone with potential outside participants.

Co-mediate with volunteers from the CCCMC.

Work collaboratively with designated liaisons at the CMCF and the Detention Center.

Accurately enter, update and maintain case management and outreach data.

 Coordinate follow up mediation services with other community mediation centers.

Conduct follow up interviews with mediation participants.

 

Requirements:

Familiarity with MS Office 2007

Ability to interact well with the public one-on-one and in groups

Ability to conduct presentations to groups of various sizes

Effective communication skills

Pass a background check

Ability to meet one on one with inmates and interact with prison staff and administration

Hours are flexible and are based on the needs of mediation participants and community partners.  Need to have some evening/weekend availability

This position is a part-time position averaging about 10 hours per week at $15.00 per hour.  Basic Mediation, Intake, and Re-entry training will be provided
