In 1999, Bill Ury introduced the concept of "the third side" in The Third Side: Why we Fight and How we can Stop. Since then, people with conflict resolution skills have approached conflicts by looking at the larger arena in which conflicts happen, seeing the surrounding community to the conflict as having roles to play in its prevention, containment and resolution, and learning to look at conflict from not just from a "single side", but from both sides as the greater whole.  Join experienced conflict resolution professionals: Linda Baron, FEMA; Charlie Pillsbury, Mediators Beyond Borders; and Joshua Weiss, Global Negotiation Initiative at Harvard University for an engaging discussion of ways to use your conflict resolution skills to engage from "the third side."  Examples will be drawn from workplace, community and international settings.
