Today marks the day that we honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a great man who was a champion of non-violent conflict resolution and tolerance.

My tribute to this remarkable leader is to share with you some of his quotes that resonated with me and are in the spirit of the Olive Branch Blog.

Please take a moment to reflect upon them today and take them with you throughout the year.

P.S. The last quote is my favorite.

“A genuine leader is not a searcher for consensus but a molder of consensus.”

“Man must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge, aggression and retaliation. The foundation of such a method is love.”

“An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.”

“Nonviolence is a powerful and just weapon. which cuts without wounding and ennobles the man who wields it. It is a sword that heals.”

“Peace is not merely a distant goal that we seek, but a means by which we arrive at that goal.”

“We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.”

“The time is always right to do the right thing.”
