The Magic of Mediation or How Theory is disconnected from Practice

Arnold Zeman- Recently, I mediated with a young couple where neither of the two had completed high school. As a transformative practitioner, I tried to ensure that I supported, rather than supplanted, their control of their conversation, both what they wished to say to each other and how they wished to say it. Many mediators who take the three-day basic transformative mediation training often wonder whether this approach can be helpful only to people who are articulate and have a post-secondary education.

We used problem oriented mediation method and narrative model mediation for the same family conflict. The last method was more appropriate.
